Welcome to the inaugural blog post. I have started a discord server for a series of one shots run in different systems with a cycling group of 16 players. This blog is largely to document how those games were run, as well as a few key questions for each game.
- How I interpret the system
- How my players interpret the system
- What the plot line was
- How I devise plot lines
- Main takeaways in the story
- What I liked about the game
- What my players liked about the game
Past that, it's really up to the system and the game to decide what other questions we ask and answer. Some games are slotted to run for multiple sessions (max of 5 because that's about what my attention span and excitement can handle), and thus the blog posts about those games will be written in parts and uploaded once all games conclude, answering some questions multiple times throughout the process. Other than that, I'm intrigued to see what other questions people want to see answered, or if there's things you want to see per system.
I'm doing some small dives into systems I already know and enjoy, including a full summary of Sentai & Sensibility, so keep an eye out for those!
I'm also taking requests for systems to run, with the understanding that the more math-heavy it is, the less likely I am to run it overall. I barely enjoy running D&D 5e, so anything more complicated is a hard maybe on whether or not I'll run it.
I'm also interested in people's suggestions for GM-less systems, and running more of those overall because the concept intrigues me.
If you want a more "liveblog" experience, you can follow me over on Bluesky where I will be posting more often about my TTRPG experiences while on hiatus from actually streaming.
Thank you for reading!
